Gymnastics Manager at Pegasus North
Reporting directly to the HOC (Head of Company) or Owners if there is no HOC, the North Manager will act as the Office Manager and North Recreational Coordinator (Reporting to the Pegasus Recreational Director), coach their own classes, supervise and mentor recreational coaches, plan recreational and staff activities. They will also be responsible for answering phones, emails, and registering athletes, and managing customer accounts. It is expected that the north location to adhere to Pegasus gymnastics policies and procedures and our mission be upheld. We need a high level of communication between all programs and locations at all levels.
Enrollment numbers will dictate the need for additional manager rolls such as office manager and recreational coordinator or supervisor
Qualifications:
- Certified NCCP C1 Gymnastics &/or Trampoline, Active Start -Must get in the courses ASAP
- Minimum 5 years of Recreational gymnastics coaching experience
- Supervisory and administrative experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Good communication (oral and written) and people skills
- Proficient with computers, knowledge of MS Office Excel and Word, Google classroom and Google drive
- Compassionate, caring individual who enjoys working with children
- Making Ethical Decisions and Respect in Sport Certificates or willing to obtain
- Possess a valid First Aid certificate or willing to obtain
- Police check and child welfare check
- All other AGF and GYMCAN required courses
Key Responsibilities:
North Manager is one of the most important roles to ensure quality programming, strong customer service and a strong staff. Coaches will be working in a team environment teaching quality at all levels. At Pegasus we pride ourselves in providing a safe and challenging facility for all our members. Our coaches are a vital part of providing that experience.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Front Desk duties
- Scheduling the coaches, supervisor, front desk staff and coaches’ clinics
- Attend all management meeting.
- Supervising and mentoring coaches
- Recreational and KinderGym Coach education
- Plan and manage recreational programming September to June, Day camps, events, user groups, drop in and Summer Camp programs.
- Must be able to meet deadlines and communication turn around time of 24 hours
- Hiring for the North location
Daily Duties:
- Ready to work at your scheduled time
- Set up and tear down/put away equipment and props.
- Welcoming and checking in athletes and parents.
- Being prepared for your shift
- Regular daily facility cleaning and up-keep.
- Managing all classes and following scheduled rotations
- Following up with and safety issues, incidents, injury reports
- Bring creativity to lesson plans.
- Respond to daily communication within 24 hours
- Showing personal initiative on the items listed above
North Manager will include our daily customer service duties. Often, being the first contact with the customers and are responsible for making a good impression and improving reputation. The goal is to make guests, and our members feel comfortable and valued while being a part of our gymnastics club.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Greet, welcome customers as they walk in and say goodbye to customers as they are walking out.
- Keep space clean, tidy and supplied with all the necessary supplies.
- Answer all the customers’ questions and address their complaints.
- Answer all incoming calls, redirect them when needed.
- Check, answer, sort emails and forward when needed. All emails need to be answered within 24 hours of receiving.
- Complete class registrations
- Assist with account administration.
- Monitor and update records and files
- Provide assistance to athletes and coaches when needed.
- Keep the front lobby, viewing room and washrooms tidy and clean.
- Maintain a good working relationship with the owners, management team and all staff.
- Showing personal initiative on the items listed above
Bookings:
- Book, plan, and collect payments for all birthday parties, user groups and drop ins.
- Organize all private lessons and collect payments for them.
- Actively find and recruit new user groups.
- Liaison for our current tenants in the facility

Instructional Gymnastics Coach
Recreation and Kinder Gymnastics Coach – Pegasus Gymnastics is looking for adults that would like to become a Gymnastics Coach. On-site training will be provided, and successful applicants will need to complete the NCCP Foundations course. Don’t worry we will help you through the process to become a certified gymnastics coach.
At Pegasus Gymnastics we teach quality gymnastics in a family-friendly environment. We are a family-owned and operated with two locations in Calgary. Our gymnastics programs are instructional with a variety of classes for all levels. With access to our strong, internal coach education program, the Pegasus Experience is the way to go!.
What we offer coaches:
- Pegasus Gymnastics has a variety of learning facilitators to help guide coaches in NCCP certifications.
- Pegasus University is a website we created to help train coaches in skill breakdowns and progressions.
- In-house coaching clinics.

Scope of Position:
Reporting directly to the Program Director, coaches will be responsible for their own classes. The position will be mainly evenings and weekends. The ideal candidates will have a friendly and positive personality while being responsible and willing to work in a team environment.

- Minimum Level 1 Foundations or willing to obtain within the first three months of employment
- Making Ethical Decisions and Respect in Sport Certificates or willing to obtain
- Possess a valid First Aid certificate or willing to obtain
- Police check and child welfare check
Responsibilities:
- Continuous athlete assessments and evaluations using our software system (training provided)
- Kinder Coaches will be provided with programming and will need to follow lesson plans and participate in themes provided by Program Director
- Coaches must be open to coaching a variety of classes Artistic, Trampoline & Tumbling, Specialty classes
- Arriving at your scheduled time
- Being prepared for your class
- Regular daily facility cleaning and up-keep

- Reporting to supervisor on duty any: safety issues, incidents, injury reports
