Instructional Gymnastics

Our artistic recreational gymnastics classes are for girls ages 6 years old and up. We strive to provide quality gymnastics by focusing on teaching proper techniques in all of our recreational programs. Our girl’s artistic gymnastic classes are developed to build the basic skills needed to progress to higher level skills and to provide athletes with the building blocks to work towards competitive level skills in a recreational environment.

Each class is structured around these events allowing the girls to develop the skills necessary to learn quality gymnastics at all levels.

Artistic Beginner

6 years Old and up

9+ Years old and up

The Artistic Beginner class is a great first introduction to gymnastics for those that have no previous training or exposure to the sport. Gymnastics promotes building coordination, strength and confidence through fine motor skill development.

The scope of this class is to teach strong building blocks of gymnastics. Athletes will work towards achieving the skills required to progress to the next level. Some of the skills that will be learned in this class are supports and swings on bars, locomotions, and jumps on the balance beam, handstand preparations and backward rolls on the floor.

Artistic Novice

6 years Old and up

The Artistic Novice class will focus on perfecting the skills learned in the Beginner class and progressing to more challenging basics. Our certified coaches will focus on teaching skills with the proper technique to build the foundation for quality gymnastics skills. Some of the skills that will be learned in this class are hurdles, handstand to back on vault, pullovers on bars, handstand preparations on the balance beam, cartwheels and back bridge kickovers on the floor.

Artistic Intermediate

7 years Old and up

The Artistic Intermediate class is for the gymnast who has the basics down and wants to learn more challenging skills. This class is great for athletes who have previous gymnastics experience but not in a competitive gymnastics setting. Some of the skills that will be learned in this class are; front handsprings on vault, glide swings and long hang swing pullovers on bars, cartwheels on the balance beam and back walkover on the floor focusing on strength and proper form.

Artistic Advanced

8 years Old and up

The Artistic Advanced class is ideal for an athlete who wants to learn more difficult skills but isn’t looking to do competitive gymnastics. Athletes at this level are focused on learning and progressing their gymnastics skills with proper form and technique. They will come to class twice a week, as we want to make sure that your gymnast develops enough strength, flexibility, and control for the more advanced skills. Examples of skills that will be taught in this class are back walkovers on the balance beam, connecting low bar and high bar and back handsprings on the floor.
