Girls Artistic Rec Classes

Pegasus Gymnastics strives to provide quality gymnastics by focusing on teaching proper techniques in all of our recreational programs. Our Girls Artistic classes are developed from the Junior Olympic Women’s Competitive program to provide athletes with the building blocks to work towards competitive level skills in a recreational environment.

JO Level 1 Beginner

This class follows the women’s Junior Olympic Level 1 compulsory routine. This class is a great introduction to gymnastics for girls that have no previous training or exposure to the sport. The scope of this class is to teach the building blocks to achieve the skills required to progress to the next level, examples of skills that will be taught are pull overs on bars, forward rolls on floor and straight jumps on the beam.
  • Class Duration: 1.5 hours
  • Age: 6-16 years old
  • Requirements: No prerequisites needed

JO Level 1 Advanced

This class offers a more detailed look at the women’s Junior Olympic Level 1 compulsory routines. The expectation will be on the details and the fine tuning of previous skills as well as learning more advanced skills. In this class they will learn skills such as handstands on the beam, back hip circles and back bridge kickovers.
  • Class Duration: 1.5 hour
  • Age: 6-16 years old
  • Requirements: Pass JO Level 1 Beginner Class

JO Level 2 Beginner​

This class follows the women’s Junior Olympic Level 2 compulsory routine. Athlete’s will work their way through the progressions to successfully complete the Level 2 skills. This class is great for athletes’ who have previous gymnastics experience but not in a competitive setting. In this class they will learn skills such as back hip circles, handstand fall to bridge and cartwheel to handstand on the beam.
  • Class Duration: 2 hours
  • Age: 6-16 years old
  • Requirements: Pass JO Level 1 Advanced Class

JO Level 2 Advanced

Athletes at this level are just prior to attempting the competitive program offered at Pegasus Gymnastics. This class contains a large amount of course material and may require attending the class for more than one session. Some of the skills offered in this session are cartwheel to handstand dismount on high beam, back walkovers, tuck on from front support on floor bar.

  • Class Duration: 2 hours x 2 days/week
  • Age: 6-16 years old
  • Requirements: Pass JO Level 2 Beginner Class

Pegasus Membership is for the annual Alberta Gymnastics Federation Insurance.  Insurance is mandatory for all classes and is valid from July 1st – June 30th. Pegasus Memberships are non-refundable.

What’s our referral program?

If you refer someone to Pegasus and they give us your name, we will apply a credit of $10 for each referral onto your account for helping build the Pegasus Family. With the Gold membership you will receive a $20 credit for each referral.
