WAG Mock Meet
Date: Sunday Dec 15, 2024
Location: Pegasus East
Levels: All competing WAG athletes
The Mock Meet is almost here! I wanted to take the opportunity to provide you with some general information regarding the event. You will also receive an additional email with athlete specific information a little closer to the event with reminders ect.
As this is a mandatory in-house event, there is no formal registration process as all competing athletes are expected to attend.
What to expect:
The goal of Mock Meet is to simulate a real competition with reduced level of pressure and stress, as such it will run just like a real competition. Athletes will preform general warm up, march in, timed warm up an event then compete that event, and rotate through the 4 events. They will be performing their routines and skills in front of an audience and real judges who will judge them during the regular season.
Each level and program follow a different code of points and have slightly different rules. We have athletes competing in the following 4 codes: FIG (Elite) High Performance, CCP Optionals, CCP Compulsory, and Xcel. Athletes are broken into groupings based on those codes and rules and judges are judges who are trained and certified in that specific Code of Points. At the end of the Mock Meet, judges will provide each athlete with their scores on each event and feedback to help them improve and continue preparation for the competitive season.
Family and friends are welcome to join, the more the merrier! Please check out the admissions denotations info at the end of this email.
General FYI’s:
- NO FLASH Photography! This is extremely dangerous for the athletes!
- Throughout the course of the Mock Meet, we kindly ask that you refrain from speaking with/ texting the coaches and athletes as this is distracting and poses a safety risk to the athletes.
- No food or drink in the gym. Unfortunately, there is always one poor coffee that goes down and spills on the carpet bonded foam and needs to be steam cleaned to remove.
