XCEL Team

Pegasus is offering a NEW competitive women’s program called XCEL. The XCEL program is new to the province of Alberta and we are very excited to be one of the first clubs in the area to offer it!

What is Xcel?

The Xcel program is an alternative competitive artistic gymnastics program that is open to all gymnasts born 2013 or later. The goal of the Xcel program is to offer a competitive experience with less time and financial commitments required by our JO competitive program.

Pegasus Gymnastic offers the following Xcel levels: SILVER, GOLD, PLATINUM, AND DIAMOND. These levels have practice schedules Tuesday/Thursday/Sunday ranging from 6 to 12 hours each week depending on the age and level. And will be a 10month program. Gymnasts will compete individual, personalized routines.

Who is this program for?

Pegasus Xcel Team program is geared towards the athlete who:

  • Is motivated to progress and learn but wants to participate in the sport of gymnastics and progress at pace which generally allows them to stay in their personal comfort level.
  • Wants to compete and experience the team aspects of gymnastics, but with reduced time and financial commitments required compared to our JO competitive program.
  • It is the perfect complement to other sports training – and in many cases is used as cross training for other sports.

Pegasus Xcel Program, although lower hours and reduced financial commitment, is still a highly competitive program, and the athletes enrolled are always required to strive to perform to that level.

Pegasus wants our young ladies to learn how to love gymnastics and at the same time develop coordination, strength, flexibility and to understand the motor functions of gymnastics. Pegasus strives to teach life skills as well as gymnastics. Our gymnasts gain focus and concentration, perseverance, time management, resilience, goal setting, communication, confidence and pride.
